At Pocketpaints, everything began with a mum, a daughter, and a simple wish for calm and creativity in the middle of everyday life.

PocketPaints was created for my daughter—my bright, curious little artist who loved painting but needed something gentler than the usual messy, complicated setup and tme away from the screen. I’ve always loved art myself, but I often felt overwhelmed by the techniques, the supplies, and the pressure to make something “perfect.” Watching her experience the same frustration made me want to create a different kind of painting experience—one that felt light, joyful, and easy to begin. So I designed a tiny, portable watercolour kit just for her. Time for herself. No screens. No cluttered table. No long setup. No pressure. Just colour, calm, and the freedom to explore anywhere—on the couch, in the car, at a café, or during those long, fidgety waits every parent knows too well. This little kit changed everything. It showed us both that creativity doesn’t need a studio or a plan. It can fit in your hand. It can travel with you. It can turn small pockets of the day into moments of connection, confidence, and quiet joy. And then something unexpected happened—adults started using it too.
